Et tu, Coffea?

Earlier this week my best friend died.
Ok, that was a bit much, but I have always had a flare for the dramatic.
Our coffee maker started going haywire last week, turning on & off when it felt like it (do coffee-makers "feel" things?) and then POOF. It stopped working.

I am the slightest bit embarrassed to admit that I'm a 3 cup a day kind of girl and I nearly had a panic attack.
When the coffee maker first broke, Jude said to me "We can just drink that Starbucks Via instant coffee stuff" and we did, for a few days but it's just not the same as real coffee.
We used to have a French press but it was either forgotten or broken in our last move and never replaced, and so I mourned my lack of freshly brewed coffee.
We had to use something until we're able to buy a new coffee maker, so guess what we're using.
Go ahead, guess.

Did you think of this------>

When we're camping (which we do a lot) I don't really mind the fact that the bottom of my cup is filled with grounds, or that my coffee is about as strong as a 4 yr old girl.
But somehow when I'm drinking a cup of chunky, watery coffee in my own home it loses the charm.
It is definitely better than nothing. But only a little.
Now that we're using this piece of crap, I'm starting to think we need to replace our in-home coffee maker AND our camping coffee pot with one of those fancy new-fangled Colemans.

I did think for about 5 minutes that maybe, just maybe, I should ease up on the caffeine intake.
I've been down to 1 cup for the last 3 days and I admit that NO, I have not died, and YES, my family has not been smothered. (Both of which I thought were reasonable potential outcomes should this situation ever arise.)
But I'm not going to give up my coffee.
It's one of only a handful of "things" that I love.
I could probably live without it, but really, why would I want to?
