Hagan Community Park

Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova, CA is located on the beautiful American River Parkway.
Head over there on any given weekend and you might find an event at the adjacent Teen Center providing music via DJ or live band, making a nice addition to your afternoon.

There are plenty of picnic tables spread out among the 75 acres of land and most have little grills for your use, so you don't have to carry in your own BBQ.
Make sure you bring some briquettes for whatever you want to throw on the grill.

Hagan Community park has a ton of stuff to do for the family.
You can play volleyball, tennis, go fishing, play at one of the playgrounds, take your dog to the newly opened dog park, go swimming in the community pool, or ride your bikes along the American River bike trail.

There are 3 group picnic sites available for rental in case your family would like to have a birthday or some other celebration, but if you get there early you can always just claim one of the other picnic tables and have your festivities for free.

There's acres upon acres of grass to let the kids run & play, and if you don't mind the short walk you can park in the High School parking lot for free and trek in, forgoing the $4 vehicle charge.

In addition to the natural surroundings, Hagan Community Park also boasts Steam Train rides and a free petting barn which allows kids to interact with a variety of animals including goats, sheep, chickens & other birds.

On your way out, be sure to visit the ducks & geese in one of the waterways, but don't feed them- that's strictly prohibited.

The Croxford family likes to spend the afternoon having a picnic in the shade of one of the many trees, then letting the kids run wild over the little hills........the kids get all worn out while Mom gets to relax.
Perfect day in my book :)

Hagan Community Park is located at 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA
